About Me

On April 18, 2013, after clear mammograms in 2010, 2011 and 2012, I was diagnosed with Stage III IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma). My journey to adopt was put on hold and my battle with breast cancer began. I am fortunate to live in a city with a very highly regarded cancer agency through which I have received the best medical care, support and attention from the most incredible doctors, counsellor, nurses and other medical professionals. In addition, through the Canadian Cancer Society "Cancer Connection" program I have had incredible one-on-one telephone support from a wonderful woman who is a breast cancer survivor.

I want to thank Mi-Jung Lee of CTV News for sharing her personal story with breast cancer and giving me the encouragement to try and make a difference for other women. Please see the link to read more about her story.
